Located in the Bellevue area (just west of downtown Nashville), Dance in Bloom teaches proper dance technique in a fun and upbeat environment. We stress the importance of learning fundamentals, proper form, and having fun. We feel there is no point in dancing if it isn't fun!

Our 4,000 sq ft facility hosts classes in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip-hop, modern, lyrical, contemporary, and acrobatics/tumbling for ages 2 and up (of all backgrounds, and abilities). A variety of class times are offered to accommodate most family schedules. The studio is also available for rental for private instruction and/or rehearsals.

Our professional instructors have a wide range of dance backgrounds and styles. They genuinely care for the students and have the desire to pass on their love and passion for dance. In-between classes, it is not uncommon to find teachers sitting on the floor assisting students with buckling tap shoes, or chatting with them about their week.

ABOUT OUR STUDIO

Dance In Bloom was founded in the fall of 2003, in a small space on Belle Forest Circle. Approximately 50 students participated in the first spring recital.

After two years, the studio had grown enough to warrant a change in venue. New construction taking place on Coley Davis Road offered the perfect opportunity to expand.

Fall of 2005 meant moving into a brand new building and doubling in studio space. Parents appreciated the much larger waiting area, water fountains, and separate restrooms/dressing rooms.

In an effort to give the more serious dance students further opportunity to excel, and for additional performance experience, the Dance Company was created in Fall of 2006 for ages 6 and up.

The Summer of 2007 brought change in leadership, while maintaining the studio's commitment to excellence and professionalism.

The Harpeth River devastated the studio in the Great Flood of 2010. Classes were moved to a temporary location during the rebuild process.

In January of 2011, classes resumed in the Coley Davis Road location. Approximately 275 students were instructed each year.

November of 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021 brought about the wonderful honor of being voted "The Best Dance Studio in Nashville," by the readers of the Nashville Parent Magazine.

In the spring of 2021 we took a final bow at our location for over 15 years and moved into the One Bellevue Place Shopping Plaza off of Highway 70S and Sawyer Brown Road. Approximately 350 students are instructed each year.

YEARLY PERFORMANCES

Two studio-sponsored performances are held each year.

Our Winter Showcase features all of our student population ages 3+, and attire is "creative costuming." This show also features our Dance Company students performing to music from shows such as Peter Pan, Cinderella, and Annie.

The Spring Recital features all of our students--many who perform multiple numbers. Costumes, routines, and music are all age-appropriate. Students have the opportunity to perform in a full-production event with staging, professional sound and lighting.

STUDIO-SPIRIT EVENTS

Throughout the dance-year, we enjoy a little extra fun by hosting in-studio "spirit weeks."

Past examples include:

  • Silly Sock Week

  • Costume Dress Up Week

  • Tutus & Tiaras Week

  • Pajama Week

There is always much excitement in the air as the dancers deviate from the normal classes by donning polka-dot-and-striped knee socks with tap shoes, or doing somersaults in tumbling class  dressed as a superhero.

The BEST thing about Dance In Bloom ... is the warm and loving atmosphere. We wanted our girls to take lessons where they would be respected and nurtured

no matter what their skill level and that is what we've found here.
